With an added level of danger, there has to be an equal amount of safety protocols to protect us on every job, no matter how small. Sometimes towing can feel like a scene out of Mission Impossible, except I don’t think Tom Cruise can save us from the dangers of heavy-duty towing. Jumpstarting your battery or helping with a flat tire is not all tow truck drivers do. It takes someone who is a great multitasker, clever, strong, and incredibly focused person to be a heavy-duty tow truck operator. And on top of all this, you have to be willing to take a lot of risks to get the toughest jobs done. Even though it may not seem like it, heavy-duty towing is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. But what makes towing such a tough profession to pursue?
One of the best parts of this job is the unpredictability of each day. Every day is a different day and we love it. We never really know just how normal or unexpected the calls for the day will be, and during our 40+ years on the job, we’ve had our fair share of surprises. Sometimes these surprises bring with them a big mess, but no job is too messy for Pepe’s Towing. Looking back over this past year, we’ve handled a number of messy towing recoveries. As this year comes to close, we can’t help but look back at all the crazy jobs we’ve worked on this past year. 2020 has been another great year of tough jobs, tons of recoveries, new challenges, lots of rollovers and a plethora of amazing content to share with our community. Some parks and recreational areas may be closed right now, but that hasn’t stopped us from going fishing. All summer long we’ve been reeling in some interesting catches.
